Year 9 Football

A spirited comeback from the Year 9 boys football team enabled progress to the Semi Finals of the County Shield!!!! Facing a well organised Seaford Head side, TBCC went 1-0 down against the run of play. The goal was an excellent header from a corner. Kewell Pavin equalised for TBCC 10 minutes later before the team found themselves again behind at half time through an exact replica of Seaford’s first goal. After the break TBCC persevered and showed great determination to turn things around. They were rewarded with an equaliser as Corey O’Hagan Arnold finished off an excellent move to stick the ball in the roof of the net. 2-2! Four minutes from time Jaylen Williams headed in the winner to send TBCC into the Semi Finals!!!! Well done Boys and good luck in the next round!!!

U13 Indoor Cricket Tournament

On 2nd March we attended an U13 indoor cricket tournament held at ICC, our first game was against Forest Boys. We batted first and achieved a respectable 235, it was then our turn to field. It took us a while to get back into the rhythm of bowling but our reflexes were quick when we were fielding. It was a challenging game and unfortunately we lost by 5 runs to Forest who scored 240. A well played game by all. We then went on to play ICC, we were determined to success and we fielded first. Our fielding was far better and our confidence grew, this led to ICC only scoring 222 runs. It was then our turn to bat, with our confidence restored to started to score more and more runs, with us achieving 253 runs overall. We came second in the tournament with ICC coming third & forth and Forest coming 1st.

Cross Country

Students from Year 7 and 8 took part in the Sussex Schools Cross Country Championships on Thursday 2nd March 2017 at Christ’s Hospital. Every student within the team ran exceptionally well considering this was their first competitive cross country race outside of the mob run!!! The students showed great determination and team spirit to perform individually on the day but also to help the rest of the team in their challenge. Performance of the day went to Dylan Hanslow (Year 8) who finished 2nd in the year 8 boys race. A great run from Dylan in race of more than 170 athletes!!!! He will now represent Sussex at the inter-counties match at the end of March. Congratulations Dylan and well done to the whole team!

Team: Dylan Hanslow, Danai Murrell, Holly Burling, Aaron More, Luke Mclean, Harry Powell, Kian Pushman, Kevin Robiero, Kayleigh Oldfield, Ashleigh Harris, Jamie Flore

Year 9 Football

Thomas Bennett 4 Tanbridge House 0

The year 9 football team produced one of their best performances in three years to make their way into the County Cup Shield quarter finals. Goals from Corey O’Hagan (2), Prince Ibeh and Nabeel Ghannam completed the win. There were some excellent performances all round with Ethan Cumming making some vital saves in goal. Teddy Ford was dominant in the middle of the park and was the player of the match. Good luck in the next round boys!

TBCC 0-2 Steyning Grammar

Sussex Schools U16 Cup Semi-Final - 07/02/17

Sadly the year 11 team bowed out of the County Cup with a 2-0 loss at home to Steyning Grammar. The boys had done tremendously well to reach this stage after beating The Regis school 2-1 in the quarter-finals with goals from Columbus Ibeh and Luke Scott, however it wasn't to be this afternoon despite the best efforts from the whole squad. Last season the squad managed to reach the County Shield Final having been eliminated from the cup competition at the first round stage, which illustrates the magnificent improvement they have made as a team. However, in the end Steyning were just slightly too strong for us and their superior organisation and fitness made the difference. Man of the Match goes to captain Dylan Weller who has been absolutely outstanding since I took over the side last year.

Coach: Dave Altendorff

Squad: Ryan Herbert, Jamie Williams, Aaron Raymond, Sam Rabot, Dylan Weller(C), Mitchell Frivolle, Luke Scott, Bradley Campbell-Francis, Columbus Ibeh, Modou Sarr, Mahamadou Juwar, Charlie Fordham, Callum Roberts, Elson Dara, Jamie Borer, Ronnie Pomroy

Year 9 Football

The Year 9 football team put together back to back victories to continue their sustained improvement.  They defeated St Wilfreds 2-0 with goals from Julio De Sousa and Cory O'Hagan Arnold.  Great team performance from all in a very tight game.

This was followed by a 3-0 victory at home to ICC 2 days later.  A second half hat trick from Kewell Pavin secured all 3 points for TBCC in another highly competitive game.

Year 9 Football

The Year 9 boys football team won their 3rd game in a row beating Oriel 3-1 in the district league.  Goals from Kewell Pavin, Prince Ibeh and an own goal gave TBCC a well-earned victory.  The team played very well in patches throughout the game and were always in control of the result.  Ethan Cummings in goal and Jaylen Williams, Adam Brooks, Jay Watkins and Josh Simmonds kept things tight at the back.  The pacey threat from Corey O'Hagan Arnold and Reece Turner created many opportunities offensively along with Kristian Frolich.  Nabeel Ghannam was energetic in his performance, combining well with Teddy Ford who kept things moving in the centre of the park.  Well done boys!

Year 9 Football

The Year 9 football team kicked off their district league campaign with an excellent performance against Hazelwick despite loosing 4-2.  Goals from Julio Souza and Corey O'Hagan Arnold had twice put TBCC ahead before half time.  The strong wind played a huge factor second half and assisted Hazelwick in getting the win in a very closely fought match.

Team: Ethan Cumming, Teddy Ford, Jack Lambert, Josh Williams, Josh Simmons, Jay Watkins, Nabeel Ghannam, Adam Brooks, Julio Souza, Kewell Pavin, Jacob Wicker, Kieran Richardson, Corey O'Hagan
