Mathematics is a compulsory subjects from Years 7 through to 11. In our sixth form we also offer AS level, A Level, GSCE and Functional Skills in our Sixth Form.
Years 7 and 8
Throughout the first two years of mathematics we look to embed core skills, exploring the subject through investigations and problem solving. The key areas are number, geometry, algebra, statistics and probability.
Years 9 to 11
From Year 9 all students study for their GCSEs. We currently follow the EdExcel GCSE syllabus.
All exams for this course take place at the end of Year 11. There is no coursework in GCSE Mathematics.
Years 12 and 13
We offer AS and A Level Mathematics in the sixth form and follow the AQA syllabus. Due to the demands of the subject, we recommend that students achieve at least a Grade B in GCSE Mathematics if they would like to continue the subject at this level
