10 KEY POINTS ABOUT THE COURSE

1. At AS Level you will study Sequencing, Recording, Arranging Listening and Analysing.

2. The course is 70% coursework based and 20% exam based.

3. In the AS course you will build on your skills from KS4 to prepare you for A2

4.  This will include looking at music from across a wide range of genres and contexts

5. Resources we use include a fully equipped recording studio and a bespoke A Level suite of Imac computers

6. Over past years TBCC students have been performing consistently above national averages

7. Politics class sizes are usually about 5-10 students

8. To study Music Technology you should be interested in many types of music and how the nuts and bolts of this work including music production and the music business.

9. Research and individual study is an important part of Music – you will need to allocate time outside lessons to all areas of the course. Recording and editing can be time consuming to achieve a high standard of work

10. Music Technology works very well with a complement of other subjects. The Music industry is a multi-billion pound industry and music technology has a huge part to play in this
